Using the Seed Library
The Otsego County Library has an amazing ray of seeds donated by local gardeners and patrons alike. Seeds are free (up to 5 packets per visit). A QR code is offered for interested folks to scan and see the wide variety we have before they even come in to pick them up. We also offer instructions on how to grow whatever seeds you take home, pick them up from on top of the seed library, or inquire at the desk for instructions.
The seed library is located within the Main Branch, by the fireplace, and is available for perusal during regular hours.
Please limit yourself to 5 packets per visit.
Keep it Growing
To keep up with demand and to help the seed library flourish, we ask those who can to bring in seeds at the end of the season from the plants they grow. It has been shown that seeds harvested from a particular area have an easier time growing the next year when planted in the same geographical location. Help us make the Earth and our community beautiful!
